Are you a Texpat?

Battleground Texpats

You can take the boy out of Texas, but you can't -- oh heck, you know the rest.

It's been a long time since I lived in the Lone Star State, but it will always be home. Longhorn football, breakfast tacos, Shiner Bock, dance halls ... I can't count all the things I miss about it.

Through all these years in D.C., I have (thankfully) made my fair share of trips back to Texas -- but more often than not it was a quick stop to raise money for national candidates from Bill Clinton to Barack Obama. Now, Texas deserves a return on its investment.

That's why I think it's so cool that Battleground Texas is launching this new group called Battleground Texpats. Think of it like a club for people like you and me who aren't lucky enough to live in Texas, yet still have a rooted interest in seeing the state become a battleground.

If you love Texas like I do, join Battleground Texpats right now.

As a Battleground Texpat, you'll be the first out-of-staters called into action, and you'll get special VIP supporter treatment, exclusive offers, and tailored messages from the team. Because if you can't knock doors or register voters in Texas, you need a way to pitch in from afar.

So if you're sick and tired of guys like Dubya, Rove, and Perry dominating the political conversation about Texas, become a Texpat. If you cringe every time some wacky law makes Texas the laughing stock of the nation, become a Texpat. If you see the potential in our emerging stars like the Castro brothers and Wendy Davis, become a Texpat. Even if you've never stepped foot in Texas but you recognize its importance in electoral politics, become a Texpat.

Whether you're a native Texan, a former resident, or you simply got hooked on Friday Night Lights, this group is for you.

Come on now -- get on board with Battleground Texpats.
